Excellent article. There is a tie-in between the real estate market and the tech corporations that is not followed by many in the press. Your article points out some of the tie-ins. The part that many miss is that the tech corporations are investing heavily in real estate.
They cannot lose the investors’ money regardless of whether or not they actually build the products they are selling. This cannot be lost on the investors and their associates. The employees are the ones who are left out.
As you point out the employees are encouraged to move on after a couple of years to move up the ladder, so they are not heavily vested in any of the companies they work for. How many are making out and how many are getting taken for a ride?
Techies beware of corporate offers for stock options in lieu of pay and real benefits. Also beware of offers to move up by changing companies frequently. It is all part of the scam to keep the money out of your hands.
